According to Roger Bootle, the economic adviser to Deloitte the next year is likely to be challenging for the hospitality industry. He stated further that "2008 is likely to be the year when the party ends. Consumer spending growth in the UK is likely to slow from around 3% in 2007 to about 2% this year. Corporations will not escape unscathed either. This will have a direct knock-on effect on those businesses that rely on the Cities for their trade, including hotels, bars and restaurants."
